Hardware and PCB design

Define the board architecture, capture the schematic and develop the layout. Specialist areas include RF, high-speed and analog design, signal and power integrity, and miniature electronics.

Embedded software

Develop the firmware and low-level software that operate the hardware. Device-driver development and Linux porting support the connection between product electronics and higher-level applications.

Coordinated product decisions

Review processor and memory requirements, sensor interfaces, power states and enclosure constraints together. Use a shared interface definition so hardware and software teams work from the same assumptions. Agree how changes to the board or firmware will be checked.

Typical project starting points

An industrial sensor needs a custom board and reliable data acquisition. A wearable needs a compact layout and careful power behaviour. An equipment manufacturer needs support for a board revision or a new peripheral. These are examples to discuss, not fixed product packages.

A defined handover

Agree the design files, firmware sources, build instructions and validation evidence that belong in the project handover. Bring requirements, available schematics, target quantities and known constraints to the initial engineering discussion.

Interfaces that survive design changes

For a new industrial controller, define the processor, power rails, sensor connections and communication paths before detailed implementation. Keep the interface specification shared across the schematic, PCB, firmware and enclosure. This makes a board revision easier to assess: a connector change can be traced to mechanical access and driver configuration.

For an existing device, begin with the available design files and known failures. Agree whether the engagement covers diagnosis, redesign or a new platform. The handover should identify supported hardware and software revisions, explain how to reproduce the build and record the checks performed on the actual device.
