NexXora’s SLA service produces smooth, detailed resin parts, with a range of resin and finishing options to suit the application. SLA is suitable for many prototype tasks, but the result depends on material, orientation, support strategy and post-curing.
Detailed prototype geometry. Use the process for models where fine features and surface appearance help the design review. Identify fragile features, internal channels and surfaces that matter to the customer. Discuss how the part will be supported and cleaned before assuming the model is ready to print.
Material selection for the test. Choose a currently available resin based on the intended function, temperature and handling. Standard, flexible or other specialist resins are options only when confirmed. A resin described as high performance is not a substitute for a material specification and an application test.
Finishing and assembly. Scope cleaning, curing, support removal, sanding, painting or other finishing as appropriate. Additional machining or assembly must be agreed for the actual part. Identify surfaces or holes that need inspection after finishing because these operations can change the result.
Product enclosure review. Build a detailed housing model to assess fit, controls and cosmetic surfaces before tooling decisions.
Complex development parts. Evaluate a geometry that is difficult to make quickly by conventional methods, using the prototype to answer a specific engineering question.
A useful handover identifies model revision, resin grade, finishing, inspection points and any limitations of the part. If the prototype is used for a functional test, document the conditions and acceptance criteria. Agree dimensional acceptance against the selected resin, build process and part geometry, and record the measurement method.
Provide the CAD model, quantity, critical dimensions, intended use and material requirements. Explain whether the part will see load, heat, chemicals or long-term exposure. Confirm the build envelope, achievable tolerances and finishing capability before accepting a production scope.
